This course is to equip heralds to preach expository sermons by following Haddon Robinson’s 10-steps of preparing an expository sermon. {3 AU, MDiv Core} *strongly encouraged: HE101 #MS221-DS0-25-S2
Credit Course students are required to complete all the course assignments by the stated deadline. They will receive grades that are transferable to any BGST postgraduate programmes.
Audit students do not have to fulfil the assignment requirements. However, they are encouraged to do class exercises and assignments to get the maximum benefit from the courses. They will not receive grades that are transferable to BGST Postgraduate Programmes.
The purpose of this introductory course is to equip heralds to preach expository sermons. We will do so by following Haddon Robinson’s 10-steps of preparing an expository sermon.
In addition, we will sharpen our presentational skills (delivery), with attention given to the strategic use of rhetorical argumentation, manuscripting (style and clarity) and finally, the preaching of one sermon from the NT epistle.
Knowledge of how to study and interpret the bible is mandatory.
*Strongly encouraged: Completed HE101 or its equivalent.
