Credit Course students are required to complete all the course assignments by the stated deadline. They will receive grades that are transferable to any BGST postgraduate programmes.


Audit students do not have to fulfil the assignment requirements. However, they are encouraged to do class exercises and assignments to get the maximum benefit from the courses. They will not receive grades that are transferable to BGST Postgraduate Programmes.

Course Description

Pastoral Care 2 (MM132) is the second part of an introductory overview of pastoral care. Ageing and end-of-life moments present some of the deepest pastoral challenges and most sacred opportunities for care. This course equips ministry leaders, pastors, and lay caregivers with the skills to walk alongside individuals and families during these tender seasons. Through instruction by experienced lecturers and practitioners, participants will explore the following key areas: Discipleship for Seniors, Aging as a Spiritual Journey, Reaching and Caring for Seniors, Cognitive Health, End-of-Life Care, Grief and Loss, Support for Caregivers.

Lecturer

Dr Tan Seng Kong

Lecturer in Systematic and Spiritual Theology

Dr Tan Seng Kong is BGST's Head for Technology and Resources, and a Lecturer in Systematic and Spiritual Theology. A graduate from Regent College, Vancouver (MA, Spiritual Theology). Seng Kong completed his PhD in Systematic Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary, where he focused his research on Jonathan Edwards' Doctrine of Salvation. Seng Kong was formerly an architect. He currently serves at Bethel Assembly of God. When he isn’t preoccupied with theological materials, he dabbles with indoor gardening, watches Korean media with his wife and eats Indian food with his son.
