Course Description

Course ME101 forms the foundational course for the GCMS program. How do we begin to think about missions in biblical, historical and theological context? What are the foundational building blocks, major issues and concerns that we need to be aware of as we engage in missions today? BGST lecturers and guest practitioners each contribute in their various specializations to provide a broadly rounded introduction to missions to provoke thought and inspire engagement.

Course Objectives
1. Gain a broad overview of the Old and New Testaments from a missional perspective.
2. Be introduced to the sweep of Christian missions from the early church to the modern day (including Western and Eastern missions).
3. Begin thinking more deeply about the theological issues associated with missions, and some pertinent issues for missions in the 21st Century.
