Course Description

In the State of the Church survey findings, it is reported that approximately 1/4 to 1/8 (best case) full-time staff suffered from adverse mental health issues during the pandemic period. There is no data on members. It could be assumed that the statistic would not be too far off the above. Though the Church emphasises on discipleship but she suffers from friendlessness and a lack of genuine connections.

Basics of Counselling: Transformation Through Deeper Connections seeks to provide real and helpful handles on how to love, care and support by considering the theology of God’s grace and sanctification. It also introduces practical skills for listening and helping the other person by connecting deeper with the person. The course also provides the opportunity to gain greater awareness of what trigger them and why. Many issues of the heart come from us seeing God wrongly. The aim is to have a holistic understanding so that a more comprehensive framework of help could be developed through the course.
