Course Description

This course will equip participants with the fundamentals of integral mission and transformational development for Christian missions. The lessons and case studies from this course will be particularly useful for participants who are: (i) interested in serving in cross-cultural missions in poor and marginalized least-reached communities, and/or (ii) church missions organizers or committee members who wish to gain a deeper understanding of how to facilitate cross-cultural transformational development ministries.

Instructor

Dr Alvin Tey serves as a Resident Faculty in Intercultural Studies in the East Asia School of Theology (EAST). He concurrently serves in Operation Mobilisation (OM) where he leads the People and Organizational Development team in OM East Asia. Alvin has been serving in missions since 2002 (full-time with OM since 2014), specifically in transformational development ministries in India and the Mekong region, and in the OM East Asia area leadership team. Dr Tey received his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Biola University, a MCS from BGST, and a B.Sc. (Government and Economics) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
